Arana sits inland in Goviapana, in the green quiet behind Ahangama — an old Sri Lankan home taken back to its bones and rebuilt with wide verandas, deep shade and a pool at the centre of the garden.
Four king bedrooms each have their own bathroom, and a separate studio gives a couple or a family their own door. It takes a whole group comfortably without anyone sharing a wall they would rather not.
The coast is a five-minute drive along the water. Most guests take breakfast at the long table, swim, and go into town in the late afternoon.
